Home Programmes & development opportunities The Social Care Scholarship Meet the scholars Ope Olufowobi: 2025 Winner
Ope Olufowobi
Clinical Services Manager, Hodge Hill Grange Care Home
Being awarded the Social Care Nurse Development Scholarship 2025 is a real privilege and honour. Since receiving the congratulatory email, I have gone over the website many times, looking through the photos as well as the evaluation report summary for the session that held in April 2024.Needless to say, I can’t wait!
The values this opportunity affords my career, both presently and in the future, is unparalleled. The learning received promises to enhance and improve the level of care provided by myself and my team, will further reintegrate a person-centred culture in the home, and in my personal practice as a nurse and as a clinical services manager. I have valid expectations that this experience is going to propel a pivotal shift in my current place of work that will be evidenced by better holistic care for the residents, more informed choices that are personal to them, and a better understanding and application of person-centred approaches by all care staff. It will also help me have and facilitate better working relationships between colleagues. This is a true gem of an opportunity, for which I remain immensely grateful.
