Jessica Lister
Consultant Nurse- Learning Disabilities
North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust
I qualified as a Learning Disabaility Nurse at Hertfordshire University in 2002 and later completed a Post Grad Diploma in Health Care at Kingston & St George’s University of London. I am completing the Senior Leaders MBA at Keele University and was shortlisted for a Student Nursing Times Award for the contribution these studies made to practice in 2001.
Over the years I have worked in a range of clinical and operational roles across community, respite and inpatient, children and adult learning disability services.
I consider myself a compassionate and courageous leader who is innovative and forward-looking with a focus upon person centredness, integration and quality of care. I enjoy working with people to raise aspirations and enable them to achieve their goals and enjoy supporting learning disability nurses with their professional growth and career development.
I am passionate about driving forward service improvements and innovation; advocating for those we support. Recent improvement initiatives include the introduction of LD Expert By Experience Advisors as part of the LD workforce, being the first trust to digitalise the Moulster and Griffiths LD Nursing Model and embed this onto our EPR, the development of a Staffordshire wide PBS project and the implementation of Resilience Based Clinical Supervision across LD services.
