NHS Digital – Clinical Specialist

I have been a Learning Disability Nurse since 1985, working in community, forensic and ATU services both as staff nurse and later as manager. As a clinical specialist at NHS Digital, I am responsible for ensuring and assuring the clinical safety and effectiveness of the digital enablers that the organisation builds. As an LD nurse I am able to ensure that people with learning disabilities, their families and the specialist clinical services that support them are considered when new digital tools and systems are developed.

I am looking forward to sharing my broad experience of learning disability services and insights into how digital enablers are developed and the role learning disability nurses can play in influencing this, both as front line clinicians and by pursuing a special interest in clinical informatics.
