Learning Disabilities Lead Nurse: Norwich Community Learning Disabilities Team

Hello, my name is Heidi and I am the Adult Community Learning Disabilities Lead Nurse for Norwich. I am delighted to have the opportunity to be a mentor for this programme and I am really looking forward to supporting the fellows.

I registered as a nurse for people with learning disabilities (RNLD) in 1999. I also have a BSc (Hons) in the Thorn programme (mental health) which is a particular interest of mine within my clinical work. I have extensive leadership experience both operationally and clinically. Over the years I having worked within community learning disabilities and mental health teams across the UK. I have previously held senior clinical roles within secondary mental health inpatient services.

I am a passionate promoter of our field of nursing, keen to guide our RNLD leaders of the future. I am part of the national #keephoLDNon project, appreciating the challenges that have been faced by our students and learning disabilities nurses over the past 18 months.
