Rosie Duncan
Community Learning Disability Nurse, Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS FT
I work for the Community Intensive Support Service (CISS), part of learning disabilities services within the Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust as a learning disability nurse. The role includes working with adults at risk of admission to hospital due to their mental health or behavioural concerns.
I hope this programme will give me the confidence, reflective space and time to develop my leadership skills to enable me to continue to develop my current role. Having the ability to have support externally to my role will enable me to reflect on how I work with the people who use our service and families to think how I can develop this further. Often within a busy day to day job there is not the chance to reflect fully on how I am working, time to develop a plan of how to improve my knowledge and skills and the direction I would like to take in the future.
