The area covered by the team is vast and no day is the same. I provide nursing input for adult clients with their physical health. This can be from appointments/procedures to supporting with personal losses, transitions from child services to adult. CPA work as well as liaising with hospital learning disability nurses for reasonable adjustments. Within my team I can ask and refer to OT, physios, psychology, SLT and psychiatry as well as external referrals.

What I learn from completing this programme I can then use in supporting my clients as well as giving information to the team on what has been learnt. It will give me an insight into what is working within my work and areas that can be improved. I am looking forward to learning skills that will progress my career and I hope to become more confident in my leadership skills, considering clients, families, carers and staff preferred methods and safe practices.
