Jessica Lee
Community Learning Disability Nurse, Intensive Support, South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
I truly love working with people who have learning disabilities, and thrive when I am able to support people who have learning disabilities to improve quality of life and live happily and healthily in their communities. Working as a nurse within an Intensive Support Team, requires adaptability and quick thinking in response to changing levels of risk working autonomously but also delegating roles to meet skill sets within the team. My role calls for a creative and dynamic approach to most ventures and I am keen to use this approach to the Learning Disability Nursing Fellowship.
I feel the Creating Caring Cultures Fellowship is well suited course to my developing needs as a practitioner, both in my current position and also for the benefit of the wider team. I have been fortunate to develop and progress over the last two years. I am proud of my achievements and desire to support and improve services, although, this additional role comes with the increased responsibility in supervision and leadership of others. I do not yet hold any specialist training or qualification in leadership and feel this is an area I am keen to improve and develop.
