Hello my name is Sara and I have been working in Kings D since 2012, initially as a ward sister, then a clinical skills facilitator and I am currently acting up as a ward manager since January 2022.
The team I work with consists of over 70 members of staff and we have 45 inpatient beds caring for people who have trauma and orthopaedic conditions. However, we have had to diversify with the challenging times brought with the Covid 19 pandemic, meaning that as a team we have had to adapt and develop new knowledge and skills to care for patients. This has had an impact on the team dynamics and the positive culture that we used to be extremely proud of. I am looking forward to participate in this programme to encourage, enable and empower the team to embrace change so as to help us all to recreate the positive workplace culture we once had.
