Learning Disability Nursing Scholarship Announced

FoNS is extremely delighted to be able to offer this year a Learning Disability Nurse Development Scholarship to one RNLD nurse. This new opportunity is open to Learning Disability UK registered nurses working in health and or social care, particularly those who are leading clinically based teams. This opportunity is open to any RNLD who has previously completed a FoNS programme.

This fabulous opportunity includes:

• Attendance at a 5-day FoNS residential programme ( 28 April – 2 May 2025), which focuses on facilitating the development of person-centred cultures. The scholarship covers the cost of programme registration, accommodation, food and reasonable travel expenses
• 12 months bespoke mentorship from FoNS

Closing date 5pm, Friday 14th March 2025.

The Process

• Application involves completion of the written application form and if shortlisted, an online interview.
• Applicants must secure an internal sponsor at a senior/strategic level to ensure that they are able to maximise the opportunities created by the scholarship. Should the applicant be successful, regular face-to-face meetings should be held with the internal sponsor to ensure that appropriate support is available internally, in addition to the mentorship provided by FoNS. This includes prioritising time to meet with the FoNS mentor and to undertake activity relating to development and innovation.

• Shortlisting – each application is carefully considered, and all applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 21st March 2025
• Telephone/video conference interviews with shortlisted applicants will be held on 27th of March 2025, the internal sponsor/line manager for shortlisted candidates will be expected to join part of the interview
