Jonathan Webster PhD, MSc, BA Hons, DPSN N, RGN - Associate FacilitatorJonathan’s career stretches over 30 years working for the NHS.  He qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1990 and has worked in both secondary and community settings in the UK and Australia. His area of clinical practice is older people’s nursing having held two Consultant Nurse for Older People posts – the first in West Sussex the second in London. During this time he contributed and led programmes of education, research and practice development and held honorary gerontological and practice development fellowships with the Royal College of Nursing.

He moved into his first commissioning role in 2009 subsequently becoming the North West London PCTs Cluster Director of Nursing and Quality. From 2012 Jonathan was the Director of Quality and Nursing for CWHHE CCGs Commissioning Collaborative and held the Board role for Nursing and Quality across the five CCGs. Between July 2017 and August 2019 Jonathan was on secondment to NHS England/ Improvement initially in the London Region as a Director of Nursing and latterly in the South East Region as Interim Regional Chief Nurse.

Jonathan has been involved in different pieces of national work related to older persons’ care; continuing healthcare; workforce development and leadership; practice development; quality improvement and clinical assurance. He has written for publication in a variety of professional journals and books along with presenting at both national and international conferences. His professional interests lie in developing clinical leadership and person-centred ways of working that enable those involved in health and social care to work in partnership with service users and their supporters through practice development, service transformation and action research.
