Selina Sleight

I am currently working on a Low Secure CAMHS ward which provides care and support for females aged 12 to 18 years old who have mental health needs and are sectioned under The Mental Health Act (1983). My role within this unit consists of delivering person centred care which is least restrictive and effective to support the young person to develop coping strategies and mechanisms in order to safely managed their mental health needs in the community.

I feel this programme will help me build my confidence in terms of leadership and help me develop the skills needed to effectively manage a busy ward, which at times can be stressful for both the young people we care for and the staff.
