As part of my Learning Disability Fellowship, I was paired up with an external mentor. This was a consultant nurse from another trust who could support me with my project and general career development. My mentor was extremely supportive and even got me involved with the second ‘Peter and Friends’ book, where I co-authored a chapter on improving access to healthcare for people with a learning disability.
