David Harling

Head of Learning Disability Nursing, NHS England & NHS Improvement 

I am a registered Learning Disability nurse and a registered Mental Health nurse. I currently serve as the national Head of Learning Disability nursing at NHS England and NHS Improvement and have worked in a senior capacity at a local, regional and national level, with over 30 years’ experience.

I am passionate about the delivery of high quality, person-centred health and care services and a staunch advocate of co-production, community based support, and empowering people who use services and their families, to be equal partners; ensuring their rights are upheld.

I am looking forward to working with the fellows and delighted to be supporting the development of early career learning disability nurses.
