Martyn Souter

Hello! My name is Martyn. I’m a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and a Team Leader in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) NHS Lothian.

I am deeply passionate about improving the experiences of children, young people and families who access mental health care. My interest has afforded me the opportunity to lead in the development of a new remit of care within CAMHS NHS Lothian. The CAMHS Tier 2 Service aims to expand the provision of preventative and targeted mental health approaches for children, young people, families and the professionals supporting them.

I am so proud of the team I lead. The Primary Mental Health Workers work to a shared system of values and goals relating to person-centred care, which has allowed us to demonstrate innovative change within our scope of practice. I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to become part of the FoNS team, as I feel it will help us to develop our approaches to person-centred care and empower us to demonstrate a culture of caring.
