Arzu Anderson

Patient Safety Reviewer, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust

I have recently started working in the Patient Safety Review Team. My role involves conducting mortality reviews and investigating serious incidents that occurred within the trust in order to identify learning points. Our team aims to support teams within the trust to improve practice and provide safe and effective care to all service users and carers.

As a newly qualified learning disability nurse, I am keen to develop my leadership skills and I believe the FoNS programme will provide me the opportunity for this. My current role within the Patient Safety Review team requires me to facilitate learning at a local and organisational level. In order to achieve this, I am aiming to develop my confidence in supporting colleagues within the trust to create safe and effective cultures of care. I am hoping that FoNS programme will help me develop a greater understanding of how to achieve this. I am also looking forward to networking with other RNLDs from other organisations and localities.
