FoNS is currently involved in a number of exciting collaborations, which aim to strengthen commitment to practice-based development and research. These include being active members of: A working party that developed "Promoting Excellence in Care through Research and Development": an RCN position statement published in April 2004. This undertaking involves academic partners from across the world, including University of Ulster, RCN, Fontys University (Holland), Monash University (Australia), Wellington University (New Zealand), Central Coast Health and Newcastle University (Australia), working towards advancing the development of both a theoretical and practical understanding of practice development within the implementation of evidence-based, person-centred health care and enabling the development of an international community of practice developers. A co-operative inquiry for the Development of a Framework for Practice Development. This international co-operative includes partners from healthcare organisations and academic institutions in the UK and abroad.
